I'm going to tell you that an engagement session can be whatever you want. WHATEVER. YOU. WANT. We can meet at a location and just wander. We can hang out in your home. You can put on a fancy dress and eat pizza. There are no rules. An engagement session is really just an opportunity for both you and your person and myself to see each other in action. It also has the extra bonus of giving you some confidence of knowing how I work and let's me know how much direction you might or might not need.

There's not need to overthink taking photos. The beauty is that it's you and someone you love and we're documenting that and it doesn't have to be any more complicated than that. For Chris and Susan's engagement session I met then in Shepherdstown, WV at Harper's Ferry and we really just let that be the backdrop for their easy and relaxed session. We didn't have any specific thing we wanted to do - we just walked and made these beautiful images of two people in love!
